Blessing Ngobeni Gives Back to Emerging Young Artists

20/08/2021     Timed-Online Auctions, Fundraising Events

Likened to Basquiat and Picasso, Blessing Ngobeni is no stranger to the struggles of impoverished black youth.

Having personally benefitted from the positive impact of the arts, Blessing Ngobeni has made it his mission to give back, annually, through the self-founded Blessing Ngobeni Art Prize through which he assists young and emerging artists to launch professional careers. The award provides the winning entrant with a twelve-week studio residency in Johannesburg and a solo exhibition at Everard Read Gallery.

As such, Ngobeni and a host of other esteemed artists such as Teresa Kutala Firmino, Theophilus Rikhotso, Patrick Seruwu, Percy Maimela, Azael Langa, Themba Khumalo and Asanda Kupa, amongst others, have contributed works to be sold to raise funds in support of the BNAP 2021 Award winner.

Artworks will be offered with the support of Aspire Art Auctions, alongside its Winter Collection, a timed-online auction of Modern & Contemporary Art and Books, running from Tuesday 24 to Tuesday 31 August 2021.
