3 - 14 July 2025
Aspire Art is proud to host a fundraising auction in support of the inaugural Cape Town Photography Festival.
IN PICTURE is now live and open for online bidding until 14 July 2025. Proceeds from the sale will contribute to the festival’s programming and outreach initiatives, helping to foster a dynamic and inclusive photographic culture. The first edition of the Cape Town Photography Festival will explore the multifaceted concept of heritage through photography, offering a platform to engage with visual narratives from local, national, and international perspectives. The festival will take place from 4-27 September 2025 and will include exhibitions, talks, educational workshops, masterclasses and portfolio reviews. Events will be presented at various museums, art galleries and community centres located across the city centre, as well as venues in Simonstown, Bellville and Stellenbosch.
The collection includes celebrated artists including David Goldblatt, Daniel Naudé and Guy Tillim as well as highly regarded photo-journalists such as Dewald Aukema, Sam Reinders, John Hogg, Rafs Mayet and Guy Neveling, amongst others. Photographers such as these do not traditionally work within the commercial gallery and auction arena, and the sale thus provides a rare opportunity for collectors to add important works to their collections.
IN PICTURE is a fundraising auction and collectors will not be charged any buyer’s premium.
