Aspire Art is a new kind of art company. We turn cultural capital into economic wealth. We curate, consult, exhibit and sell because it’s not just about auctions. It’s about an art ecosystem.

We aspire to new global heights for contemporary African art, which is growing from strength to strength in the market. In the past 18 months, we have introduced 50 new African artists to auction and set 60 new African art records, becoming leaders in the sale of contemporary African art.

While our focus is pan-African, we are located in both South African art world capitals of Johannesburg and Cape Town.

Founded in 2016, Aspire Art produces a rigorous annual programme of live and online auctions, and together with exhibitions, private sales, valuations and art advisory services, we successfully stimulate the secondary market by implementing a financial model that pays royalties to living artists when an artwork is sold.

We hold many records and industry firsts. At the core of everything we do, is the drive to establish the true significance of African art so that it aligns to the value systems and pricing levels of the rest of the world. By focusing on high-quality historic, modern and contemporary African art, Aspire Art has made significant inroads into the recognition of the creative and cultural contribution that Africa has made to the global art world.

Building Collections of Value is our slogan.
It is the guiding philosophy and primary focus of Aspire and speaks to our vision, mission, and values.
We refer here to Value in all its relevant forms, including cultural, historical, aesthetic, and monetary value.
